The role of the Finance Business Solution project is to provide a whole-of-Government business solution for finance. It is also expected that the finance project will address other non-finance business functions supported by the existing SAP system as the scope is further refined (for example, project management and real estate management).

As part of the whole-of-Government business solution for finance, the project aims to achieve:

• standard suite of technologies to support business processes
• standard SAP enterprise structures including high level migration strategy
• standard whole-of-Government financial policy
• standard whole-of-Government financial processes
• consolidated and standardised financial system.

The finance project aims to achieve the best outcome for whole-of-Government by improving efficiency in processes and lowering costs in delivery of financial functions.
