We are a business unit within the Department of Public Works responsible for the design, build and maintenance of corporate information systems to manage Queensland Government finances and human resources.
These systems are used by Government agencies and shared service providers to manage payroll, rostering, purchasing, inventory management, asset management, accounts payable and receivable and other corporate functions.
We also manage a diverse range of corporate solutions on behalf of our clients and support agency specific solutions.
We are committed to supporting our clients, shared service providers and agencies, in the delivery of their corporate services—hence our corporate slogan of 'partners in corporate business solutions'.
What we do
We were established to provide technology to improve efficiency and reduce the cost of providing human resources and finance functions across Government.
We have the dual role of implementing human resource and finance business solutions across the whole-of-Government, and providing systems support and payroll service for these solutions.
CorpTech manages the payroll process for over 180,000 public servants each pay period.
A key business objective for CorpTech is to consolidate and rationalise the number of human resource and finance business solutions across Government and to support the shared service providers to achieve standardised business practices and processes across their client agencies.
Our organisation is structured to meet the challenge of maintaining current systems and applications while planning and preparing for the future.
Three branches facilitate this goal:
- Strategy and Planning branch—responsible for providing leadership and coordination of information and communication and technology (ICT) and corporate planning and reporting.
- Project Delivery – responsible for ensuring the delivery of approved corporate solutions projects.
- Service Delivery branch—responsible for the provision of critical human resources and finance, and administration related ICT applications support and maintenance.
In addition to these branches, the Financial and Business Management Group and the Workforce Performance Group provide vital roles supporting our business.
To date, substantial savings have been generated through the consolidation of applications, infrastructure and support used to provide finance and human resource services. We manage a number of strategic supplier arrangements, covering software licensing and support, and technology services.
We work closely with CITEC and the shared service providers to support efficient end-to-end delivery of shared corporate services.
