 Study and Research Assistance Scheme (SARAS) 

CorpTech provides financial assistance to employees who have received approval under the Study and Research Assistance Scheme (SARAS) to undertake tertiary study. Leave may also be available to employees for course attendance, compulsory residential school and examination purposes.

SARAS is available to permanent Public Service Officers and temporary employees engaged for 12 months or more (casual employees are not eligible for SARAS). Part-time employees are considered on a proportional basis.

Under the SARAS scheme there are three levels of assistance, these are:

  • Essential (up to 100% financial reimbursement and relevant leave assistance)
  • Highly Desirable (up to 75% financial reimbursement and relevant leave assistance)
  • Desirable (up to 50% financial reimbursement and relevant leave assistance)

Financial assistance under SARAS is provided at the end of the study/research, where satisfactory study/progress requirements have been met. Financial assistance may be available to employees to assist with the following expenses:

  • Tuition Fees
  • Discounted HECS fees
  • Student Service Fees
  • Examination Fees
  • Travel and Accommodation costs
