 Working Hours

The hours of work requirements for CorpTech employees are set out in the Queensland Public Service Award 2003, and amended in August 2004 to take into account New Hours of Work Arrangements for CorpTech.

The New Hours of Work Arrangements:

  • discourage a culture of excessive working hours
  • manage the accrual of working hours to avoid lost time
  • allow flexible starting and finishing times and access to a full day off
  • include a clear delineation between ordinary working hours and overtime
  • are in addition to leave entitlements, including annual leave, sick leave, family leave, emergent/compassionate leave and bereavement leave.
A standard work day is 7 hours and 15 minutes between 6am-6pm, Monday-Friday, working out to 36.25 hours a week.

Employees who work in excess of 5 hours on any day are allowed not less than 30 minutes for an unpaid meal break between the 3rd and 6th hours of duty.

Employees are allowed to accrue a maximum amount of 14.5 hours accrued time within the spread of hours and within a work cycle and settlement period. Three (3) consecutive Accrued Days Off (ADOs) may be taken in a work cycle and settlement period.
